glazed ceramics, yarns
59 x 76 x 1.5cm / 37 x 45 x 1.5cm
It is a series of flat sculptures in which yarns are tightly woven on a fragile ceramic frame using the traditional cane seat weaving technique inspired by the seat of the THONET chair. I focus on the tension from the relationship between the properties of two different matters; ceramics and yarns.
By applying the traditional technique of creating the function of an object for the convenience of the human body to the form of a sculpture, it is a performative practice that I relieve the function and focus on the properties of the substance itself and their relationship.
