Commissioned Tableware Project by the Frozen Fountain(NL)

Tableware is closely linked to our body, as a space for food that becomes our body. Through the Facade project, I question the standard design of widely used tableware today by shaping the alternative empty spaces for food, offering a new experience and awareness for the non-standardized body in the dining environment.

It is an experimental inquiry and questioning into the prevailing norms of tableware design. Inspired by Aesop’s fables, The Fox and the Stork, food being served in a flat bowl and narrow-necked vessel designed suitable for each of their body shapes, I imagined a set of tableware with dynamic heights, asymmetrical forms, diagonal lines, and acute angles.
